“Art at the Mill” will feature the vividly realistic paintings of Paul Wolber during the month of December. This art exhibit at historic Bear’s Mill opens with a reception on Friday, November 26 and continues through Sunday, January 2.Parma, Michigan resident Paul Wolber was a professor of art for 40 years, and has traveled extensively in Europe and China; his show at the Mill will include images of exotic lands as well as his perceptions of the natural world. “Paul’s stunning work embodies conceptual values such as mass, volume, space, color, and perspective, while at the same time containing a spiritual quality which evokes an emotional response,” said Mill spokesperson Julie Clark. “He says that he aims to record the wonder and beauty of the universe he experiences each new day, and his paintings reflect that joy in being alive. We are very excited about the opportunity to share Paul’s creations with our community,” Mrs. Clark concluded.
Also on display and available for purchase in the Mill Store & Gallery will be a new line of functional stoneware pottery created specifically for Bear’s Mill by local potters Julie Clark, Rita Wiley, and Loretta Wray. Pieces being crafted include mixing bowls, serving bowls, mugs, pitchers, baking dishes, and honey jars.
“Art at the Mill” is on view during regular Mill store hours. November hours are 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and on Sundays, and 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturdays. The Mill is open every day except Christmas in December: Sundays through Fridays 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Bear’s Mill is operated by The Friends of Bear’s Mill, a non-profit organization, and is located at 6450 Arcanum-Bear’s Mill Road about 5 miles east of Greenville.
