Fall, with the lack of biting bugs and humidity is the perfect season for walks. Held every Tuesday, these walks focus on bird-watching, but we will also discuss any trees, fungus and flowers we find while hiking the trails of Shawnee Prairie Preserve.
These hikes are the perfect excuse to get outside, get some fresh air and good exercise! We will spend around an hour and a half out on the trails of Shawnee Prairie Preserve.
In addition to what we see while hiking the trails, this will give us a wonderful chance to observe Nature’s color during these fall months! The woods should be alive with color starting very soon!
Each hike will start at 8 am at the Nature Center’s parking lot, and return to the parking lot by 9:30am. Bring your binoculars if you have them. If you do not have a pair (or a pair for everyone in your party) we have a few pairs at the Nature Center that can be loaned out for the duration of the hike. Hope to see you in the Parks!
