>Versailles graduate receives Ohio State recognition

>Justin Rismiller, a fourth-year student double majoring in agribusiness and applied economics in The Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), received the university’s Board of Trustees Student Recognition Award at the board’s meeting on Friday, Sept. 17.

A native of Rossburg, Rismiller is a graduate of Versailles High School.

Rismiller co-chairs the CFAES Ambassadors and leads the college’s recruitment efforts by coordinating and giving tours to prospective students. He also serves as an Alpha Zeta Partners officer, where he is responsible for planning diversity retreats and speaker events, as well as organizing community service and other events to reconnect alumni with current members. The experience took him to Brazil for a six week study abroad program. Rismiller was also named a member of the 2010 OSU Homecoming Court.

During the past academic year, Rismiller worked with the Ohio BioProducts Innovation Center where he researched product commercialization and potential profitability of new products. He also interned the past two summers with Cargill, Inc where he gained experience as a part of the merchandising and operations management teams. Following graduation next spring, he is deciding whether to attend law school and work in agricultural law, or workin the area of marketing or sales.
