“Guardian of the Seas” – click on photo for full-size image

Jeannie entered four photos at the Art Association of Randolph County’s Summertime Photo Show. She won one first place, one second place and one honorable mention. She also received Best of Show with her silhouette photo of Poseidon’s Temple, titled “Guardian of the Seas”. The winning photo was double matted with a greenish blue bottom mat, a golden yellow upper mat, and a black frame.

In giving the Best of Show, the judge commented: “Guardian of the Seas” represented the best overall presentation. Technically, it impressed me as the best composition with the photographer placing the subject perfectly in the frame. The exposure created the wonderfully black silhouetted structure against the properly exposed sky showing the detail the viewer would want. The image evoked a mood that allowed us to envision this structure standing for centuries as a proud sentinel over the surrounding landscape. The final component was the superb selection of the mat and frame. This combination made it the total package for me”
