>Greenville Marco’s Pizza Owners Open Second Location in Piqua

>

Marco’s Pizza franchise owners, Jack and Polly Alexander, recently opened up their second location after five years of success at their Greenville store. A ribbon cutting for their new store in Piqua was held by the Piqua Area Chamber of Commerce at the pizzeria’s 100 North Sunset Drive location. The Alexanders purchased the location after the previous owner of the Marco’s in Piqua closed the doors. Since the re-opening, the store has seen a steady increase in customers.

“We’ve seen a steady increase in orders since we’ve reopened the Piqua store,” stated Jack. “Customers have told us that they’ve really noticed our focus on product quality and on-time delivery”

The Alexander’s credit much of the new locations’ initial success to General Manager Nicki Ward, who has spent considerable time promoting the store in the Piqua community. Much like the Greenville Marco’s, Ward already has the new store deeply immersed with the community and with the Piqua school system. Additionally, the Alexander’s have changed the look of their location with new signage, driveway entrances, and the familiar Marco’s car-toppers that Darke County residents are already well familiar with.

The formula worked wonders in Greenville where the Alexander’s took over the floundering Marco’s location in 2005 and turned it into the number one store in the company. At the Annual Marco’s National Convention this month at King’s Island, the Greenville location once again took home the number one store honors and the coveted PSI award (Performance-Service-Image). The store has also won the Advocate’s “Best of Darke County” award in the Pizza category for three straight years. They also won for their subs for the second time in 2010.

Despite the Miami County opening, Jack said that the Greenville store will remain his company’s corporate headquarters.

“Darke County is home,” commented Jack. “We do plan to open more locations but the Greenville store will always remain the hub of all of our activities. We owe our success to the people in this community and our wish is to continue to provide jobs here and give back whenever and wherever we can.”

The Greenville Marco’s has been a large supporter of the Greenville School System through a variety of programs, and also supports the Greenville Girls’ Softball League, the county Partnering for Progress initiative, and several church programs, most notably with the EUM Church in Greenville.
